Distance Learning Survey for HIDOE Families

HIDOE families, your voice matters! Help the Department and your school better support you by sharing your experiences with distance learning. Parents and guardians of students enrolled at any Hawaii public or charter school are invited to take 15 minutes to complete the survey now until June 30, 2020. The survey is available in English, Ilokano, Chuukese, Tagalog and Marshallese.
Those who complete the survey will have the opportunity to enter a prize drawing for a new iPad or Chromebook. All surveys are completely confidential -- no one at the school, complex area or state office will be able to connect responses back to the individuals.

Free Internet Service for Households with K-12 Students and/or College Students

Spectrum Broadband
o Charter Communications is offering free Spectrum broadband and Wi-Fi access for 60 days to households with K-12 and/or college students who do not already have a Spectrum broadband subscription and at any service level up to 100 Mbps.
o On March 25, 2020, Spectrum issued a press release indicating that the offer for 60-day broadband access has been expanded to include educators who do not already have Spectrum broadband subscriptions.

Hawaiian Telcom
o Hawaiian Telcom is offering free internet services two (2) months of free Internet service to households with K-12 and/or college students who currently do not subscribe to Hawaiian Telcom Internet service.
o Educators may contact Hawaiian Telcom to see if they are eligible to receive two months of internet service if they currently do not subscribe to Hawaiian Telcom Internet services.

COVID-19 Update*

Emergency Meals-to-You (eMTY) provides weekday breakfasts and lunches to students who were receiving those meals through the National School Lunch Program at a free or reduced price but temporarily cannot receive school meals due to emergency school closures. eMTY mails 10 breakfasts and 10 lunches every two weeks directly to the student’s home while schools are closed due to COVID-19.

Student work packet pick up on April 02, 2020 from 8:30 am - 11:30 am at the yellow fence.

The packet contains four weeks worth of work. If you missed the first packet pick up, we will have those packets available in addition to the new packets. The packets will not be graded. This will be a drive up and go event, you will not exit your vehicles. You will only be able to pick up work for your child(ren). If you are unable to pick up work during these times, you may designate someone to pick up the packets.
